In many ways PEC’s story is the history of development of automotive industry in Japan. Established in 1961, when automotive fuses were still being built by hand, PEC successfully developed the world’s first fully automated assembly equipment for Glass Tube Fuses (GLTF). In 1979, a new production system for Blade Fuses (BFAT) was rolled out, followed by the development of Slow Blow Fuses (SBF) in the mid-80s.
Over the years PEC continued to innovate around customers’ changing needs by achieving miniaturization and reduction in height of blade fuses, contributing significantly to the miniaturization of fuse boxes.
With the emerging new trends in electric mobility and driverless cars, PEC have emerged as the leading players in the world for EV application fuses as well, holding more than 70% global market share.
